Nonlinear analysis of forced mechanical systemswith internal resonance using spectral submanifolds, Part I: Periodic response and forced response curve

چکیده

Abstract We show how spectral submanifold theory can be used to construct reduced-order models for harmonically excited mechanical systems with internal resonances. Efficient calculations of periodic and quasi-periodic responses the are discussed in this paper its companion, Part II, respectively. The dimension a model is determined by number modes involved resonance, independently full system. system obtained as equilibria on submanifolds. forced response curve orbits then becomes manifold equilibria, which easily extracted using parameter continuation. To demonstrate effectiveness efficiency reduction, we compute curves several high-dimensional nonlinear systems, including finite-element von Kármán beam plate.

response articles: micro and macro analysis

the present study reports an analysis of response articles in four different disciplines in the social sciences, i.e., linguistics, english for specific purposes (esp), accounting, and psychology. the study has three phases: micro analysis, macro analysis, and e-mail interview. the results of the micro analysis indicate that a three-level linguistic pattern is used by the writers in order to cr...

Free and Forced Transverse Vibration Analysis of Moderately Thick Orthotropic Plates Using Spectral Finite Element Method

In the present study, a spectral finite element method is developed for free and forced transverse vibration of Levy-type moderately thick rectangular orthotropic plates based on first-order shear deformation theory. Levy solution assumption was used to convert the two-dimensional problem into a one-dimensional problem. In the first step, the governing out-of-plane differential equations are tr...

Separating Internal Variability from the Externally Forced Climate Response

Separating low-frequency internal variability of the climate system from the forced signal is essential to better understand anthropogenic climate change as well as internal climate variability. Here both synthetic time series and the historical simulations from phase 5 of CMIP (CMIP5) are used to examine several methods of performing this separation. Linear detrending, as is commonly used in s...

Forced Response: Turbulent Swirl Combustor

Since a large number of physical variables are involved in the combustion process occurring in complex swirl stabilized combustors, simple systems (burner stabilized laminar flat flames) were initially studied (see chapters 5 and 6). Having understood the dynamics of laminar flat flames and developed methodologies to build reduced order flame dynamic models, the technique developed to measure t...

Bifurcations in Forced Response Curves

The forced response curve is a graph showing the amplitude of the response of a periodically forced system as the forcing frequency is varied. Zhang and Golubitsky (SIADS, 10(4) (2011) 1272–1306) classified the existence and multiplicity of periodic responses to small amplitude periodic forcing of a system near a Hopf bifurcation point, where the forcing frequency, ωF , is close to the Hopf fre...
